Discovering light in Italy is easy, because the reflections display expressive powers in every moment. David Manetti's is a romanticism that starts from Turner but also passes through expressionist dreams, in an aesthetic of the sublime and the Infinite that is always a source of inspiration. The Artist is a Ulysses who explores knowledge, seeking the treasures hidden in the light, as the pointillists could have done, because it never replicates the same moments and capturing the moment is like capturing the ecstasy of constant magic. Letting color breathe in the blurry lens of becoming is humanizing a painting, loading it with all the emotions dictated by memories, where memory is the root that remains in continuous evolution. Our research never ends and continues to recreate new empathic impacts with the spectator, involving him fully in a mysterious adventure and in a confrontation of identities. A work of authentic presence, in which David filters everything and the painting is a creature that speaks to impress the moment of a dream. prof. Sandra Lucarelli

David Manetti was born in Lucca on 02/16/1968. He graduated from the artistic high school of Lucca and the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence in 1990. He has participated in numerous personal and collective exhibitions from 1987 to today. “For me, painting means translating an emotion through the pictorial technique which must be sober and the color uniform, so as not to fall into the banality of landscape painting which prevents instinct from being represented. Capturing the sea or the land and sky is not easy, but intriguing, exploring the crack of the horizon, the infinity that transcends our understanding. Painting the flow of time, questioning existence, representing what cannot be seen, starting with form, ending with the unconscious. My painting expresses itself through dispossession, the skeleton of form, the substance of things, the nothingness stripped away by the human presence which is only witness to the greatness of nature". Some works are on permanent display at the Hotel “San Luca Palace” in Lucca, others are part of private collections in Scotland, Switzerland, Sweden, France, Canada and the United States of America. A permanent exhibition can be visited at the “L'arte” Gallery - Lucca. Professor Sandra Lucarelli, prof. spoke about David Manetti's work. Aldo Baiocchi, prof. Bruno Pollacci, the prof.
