Trillium Painting

Trillium was inspired by my provincial flower and was created for a zine where the theme was flowers. I had also recently purchased gold leaf, so this was my first use with the material. In addition to the flower, my province also inspired the main colours of blue and white as that is the colour of our license plates. As with all my works, my hope is that my art brings some beautiful and colour into the viewers life, if but for a moment. I want the viewer to enjoy the little details, as I find that to be a very important aspect of life. With Trillium, while a lot of it may seem simple, I hope the viewer will take a moment to explore the details in her outfit and in her hair, and if lucky enough to view in person, can enjoy the gorgeous shine of the gold. Trillium was created mostly with acrylic paint, enhanced with gold leaf in the background and a gold acrylic marker for the gold detailing in her hair. She was painted on a canvas panel, and is framed and ready to hang. The size listed includes the frame, the artwork is 9" x 12" without it.
