About The Artwork

Julia Hacker's paintings are reflections of her encounters with people and nature. She loves to travel, especially after the restrictions we have experienced in the last few years. The artist's love of colour and texture is constantly evolving. It mirrors the artist's state of mind. We are still affected by the recent trauma of the world's lockdowns and solitude. Tonalism is a style of painting in which the color range is limited so that subtle gradations of the middle values (aka color “tones”) constitute the primary aesthetic and means of expression. Julia Hacker uses gestural marks and subtle lyrical forms in the artwork. The shapes of the palm trees are both organic and feminine. The painting depicts a serene beach scene with tall palm trees standing majestically against a starry sky. The colour scheme of the artwork is minimalistic, with muted shades of blue, grey, and black dominating the canvas. The moon casts a soft and ethereal glow on the palm trees, evoking a sense of tranquillity and calmness. As you gaze at the painting, you can almost hear the sound of waves crashing against the shore, and the gentle rustling of the palm trees in the breeze. The artist has captured the movement of the trees in their brushstrokes, creating a sense of movement and life in the otherwise still scene. The large size of the artwork adds to its impact, drawing the viewer in and allowing them to immerse themselves in the beauty of the night. Tropical Night is a stunning artwork that captures the magic and mystery of the natural world, inviting the viewer to pause and reflect on the wonders of the universe. Painting ships rolled in a protective tube.
