Turbaned Man Painting

Born in Houston, Texas and raised in Panama city, Panama, Krystle Holnes began her love for art very early with painting classes on Saturdays and pockets filled with paper and drawing materials. By high school Krystle participated in the IB program gaining a certificate in IB art and participated in various art/ gallery shows and her first fashion show during the senior showcase. In college she graduated from Savannah College of Art and Design majoring in Fashion Design. After moving to Houston upon graduation for her post Baccalaureate in Consumer Science and Merchandising at the University of Houston, she continued to produce and participate in fashion shows and fashion illustration competitions. As a creative she is inspired by dancers, yogis, movement and nature. With a childhood filled with dance recitals Recently she's been exploring depth & meaning through layers & texture. Today Krystle is a Fine Arts teacher at the Secondary DAEP, teaching Houston's most creative students who've taken an alternative approach to life and learning. In 2017 Krystle developed an art challenge named MAKE MAY Public, it encourages artists to come out of their studios and workspace to make art in public and among the non creatives. The work is inspired by 31 different themes and can be completed in any medium. In her free time she enjoys going to museums, and attending life drawing classes such as the ones at Houston Art League. Some of her work was on display at Mid Main lofts gallery, Pancakes and Booze and Insomnia gallery in Houston, Texas 2019. As a creative she is inspired by dancers, yogis, movement and nature.
