About The Artwork
Another one of the series SORTING OUT THE CHAOS with the title "und wir tanzten (in memoriam)." The year 2019 was one of a lot of inner turmoil for me - many unresolved issues from the past suddenly wanted to be looked at and coped with. I needed to sort out all the "chaos" that was there inside of me. The series "Sorting Out The Chaos" consisting of a dozen of smaller and larger paintings emerged. Step by step, painting by painting I sorted out issue by issue and could let it go ... This painting is dedicated to my father - his death having been something I still can't come to terms with. In "und wir tanzten" I remembered all the good times we had, the laughter he loved to create, the music he loved, the dancing. This painting was created in memory of him. The artwork is signed on the side (canvas is 4cm deep).

I am a Czech-born and now Germany based painter. In my works I explore the essence of what surrounds me: why do people act the way they do? What lies beneath the surface of what meets the eye? What are we driven by? To express what I sense beneath the surface I feel drawn to different materials and a range of colours, which I apply in different layers on my canvases and papers, using a variety of techniques including scratching, brushing and printing. This way expressive works are created, some reduced to basic expressions, others rich in colour and texture.
