About The Artwork

I started this piece during the first lockdown, I had just began a series of paintings depicting women in free, contented, happy states. I used oil on canvas and it took me 18 months to complete. This piece represents a young good-looking woman who has chosen to take advantage of the privileges society has accorded her. Whatever she wants, someone should be able to get. She is well educated and has a good job but she is of the belief that if people are willing to do nice things for her, who is she to decline? To many, her actions may be seen as immoral and entitled but is it really our place to project our values on others especially when no crime is being committed? My intent with this piece was to spark conversation. Feel free to shoot me an email or dm on IG if you'd like to share your thoughts.
