My works depict various domestic scenes that blend to create new events, which are subjectively interpreted. Images flowing between flatness and depth produce a new and original narrative and provoke contemplations about the distinction between what is essential and what is not. The primary them I research in my work in the domestic space from a female point of view. I observe and examine the location in terms of an outer space and its interaction with nature, environment and society, as well as an inner space, which is private, intimate and reflected in the soul. The concept of home as a referent to the location provides a sense of belonging and safety to a person and at the same time requires maintenance and intensive work in order to preserve it as such. Such place absorbs human energies and daily routine, which remains as a testimony within the home, reflecting in its spirit, even without human presence. Generally, the distant, noble and peaceful female figure would represent the gap between freedom and bondage. Deception created by toiling Sisyphean labor, which fills the woman’s world, and the modern illusion of opportunities and spaces that are open to her. A search for purpose and meaning of Sisyphean labor is integrated into my painting as the action of painting itself, which symbolizes the delicate relationship between the various shades of tension and complexity of internal and external spaces.
