About The Artwork

"Upward Mobility" is a vibrant and dynamic abstract painting that exudes energy and depth. With a rich tapestry of textures, lines, and forms, the artwork features a bold color palette of yellow, orange, red, white, and black, accented with hints of purple and pink. The hint of a ladder, with it's purple rungs, symbolizes the act of ascending, climbing, and a vertical dynamism. The piece combines geometric and organic shapes, creating a visual rhythm that draws the eye and creates focal points. Drips of paint add to the raw, expressive quality of the work, while areas of thin paint application create a sense of translucence, allowing underlayers to show through and adding to the complexity of the piece. Overall, "Upward Mobility" invokes an urban, industrial vibe while also feeling spontaneous and lively, akin to a visual form of jazz or improvised music. Approx. 70" x 60" on unstretched canvas; will be a bit smaller after you bring to your local frame shop and have it mounted on wood stretcher bars. This painting is part of the "Rhythms of Change" Collection

As an intuitive abstract painter, my style embodies an organic, expressive feel that allows viewers to establish a compelling personal connection. Using rich combinations of color and texture, surrealism and reality, and geometric and organic forms, I narrate stories while creating several points of visual interest within each story. My use of mixed media adds texture, infusing my paintings with energy and depth. This multi-dimensional appeal makes my work emotionally poignant. I take a skillful and thoughtful approach to balance and color, and am committed to pushing the boundaries of my creativity while experimenting with techniques that give me a unique artistic voice. Sharon is the creator of several commercially successful home décor lines and is a nationally licensed artist with currently two lines of giftware on the market. She is a self-taught artist, graphic designer and illustrator and is happy to call Atlanta her home since 1992. Please visit my website - link above.
