ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The imagery draws on my everyday experiences of living on Dharawal land, in a suburb on the south coast of NSW. This area reflects the post-World War Two diaspora of European families in its architecture and gardens. I use the common sight of the stone lion statue as inspiration for the work. The images and fabrications of the everyday are mediated through my engagement with personal narratives, childhood memories, humour, and an expanded painting and textile practice.
