Vessel of Memories Painting

Aga Mirko, born in 1988, is a graduate of interior architecture in Wrocław and a contemporary visual artist from Poland. She paints to move something - in a space, in a person, in emotions. Her paintings capture an inner movement: sometimes chaotic, sometimes meditative, but always authentic. In her work, she combines design experience with a personal narrative of what moves her. Mirko uses a disciplined understanding of space, form, and composition gained during her studies and work as an interior architect, while boldly breaking those rules. She plays with contrast, combining geometric elements with intuitive, organic marks and gestures, creating dynamic, multilayered images. Working on large formats lets her reach for an abstract representation of the relationship between humans, nature, and environment, weaving in elements evocative of human presence and experience. Drawing inspiration from Eastern philosophy, Mirko explores well-being, relationships, and emotions in the contemporary world. Her art is a constantly evolving invitation to inner dialogue and reflection on what stirs us. She is inspired by life - not in its polished forms, but in its rawness, contradictions, and details: events, relationships, nature, and memory. The artist says her paintings come from an inner impulse but over time take on a meaning of their own, becoming a separate entity - a place for the viewer to encounter themselves. Nature is another important theme and source of inspiration for her, present in multilayered compositions and highlighted by a shifting palette, from intense, electric tones to subdued, gentle transitions, which modulate the perception and emotional impact of her work. Technically, Mirko mainly realizes her visions with mixed media, predominantly acrylic, building up texture and layers of color, not shying away from experimenting with other media and forms. She also eagerly leads creative workshops. Her paintings are an expression of authenticity, curiosity, and a desire for connection - both with herself and with others. Since 2025, Mirko has exhibited her work in public spaces, including at the Szyb Wilson Gallery in Katowice. Many of her pieces are in private collections and public spaces.
