About The Artwork
Watercolor on paper. Technique "a la prima" - the work is done in one session. At the end of the 19th century in Feodosia, according to the population census, there were 144 representatives of the Crimea dynasty. They were all relatives and members of the same family. The most famous representative of the dynasty was Solomon Samuilovich Crimea. The Crimea family owned a commercial bank, a shipping company and other large facilities. Solomon Crimea was the chairman of the 2nd Crimean regional government, the initiator of the founding of the Taurida University; Karaite by origin, participant and conductor of the Karaite movement in the Crimea and in exile, the son of the mayor of Feodosia, famous in the 19th century. Dacha of Solomon Crimea is called dacha "Victoria" - "Victory". But in addition to the name "Victoria" in the sources there is another name for the dacha - "Joy".
