"Vinscent and the garbage man" Painting

My work is defined by the creation of a new visual genre: Ethno Pop Art. This is a contemporary mixed-media practice that interrogates the intersection of anthropological documentation and the visual lexicon of modern consumer culture.

At the heart of my practice is “The Indigenous Project,” an ongoing series based on my own photographs of indigenous peoples and marginalized communities from around the world. These works are not merely portraits of the “Other”; they are a critique of the lens through which the West views the world—a lens that is increasingly filtered, saturated, and disconnected from physical reality.

The Philosophy: Ethno Pop Art I merge the raw authenticity of ethnographic photography with the synthetic, high-saturation aesthetics of Pop Art to create a deliberate visual dissonance. By utilizing "subversive beautification"—employing neon cyans, magentas, and acid yellows—I strip the subject of traditional "National Geographic" sentimentality. This forces the viewer to engage with the image as a contemporary construct rather than a historical artifact, placing subjects who exist on the periphery of globalization directly into the center of the technological discourse.

The Process: The Extended Canvas My artistic process is multidisciplinary, operating across physical and digital planes to bridge the Pre-Industrial with the Post-Digital:

The Source: Authentic, un-staged documentary photography captured during my travels to over 35 countries.

Digital Transmutation: Rigorous manipulation to apply the “commercial gloss” of Western advertising.

Narrative Integration: The inclusion of QR codes that serve as portals, leading the viewer from the stylized abstraction back to the grim or grounded reality of the subject.

The Meta-Layer: Many works feature a secondary, invisible layer using UV-reactive materials or NFT tokenization, conceptually linking primitive subject matter to the speculative economy of the blockchain.

Background While my work is visually explosive, it is structurally grounded in my training as an architect (Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts) and my career as an in-house architect for the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. These roles took me to every corner of the globe—from Angola to Bangladesh—allowing me to document cultures whose stories and traditions must be preserved against extinction.
