About The Artwork

"Visitors to Antelope Canyon" is an anachronistic exploration into the theory of Ancient Aliens and time travel. The Explorer visits the Canyon at a time when the petroglyphs remained, before the waters of the monsoon season washed them away over time. I use Golden Acrylics for their quality not only in paint handling but also for their archival properties. The Space Cowgirl is created using tracing paper and pencil and applied with an acrylic medium. SPACE COWGIRLS // This series is an exploration into themes of nostalgia, loss, and preservation through anachronistic dreamscapes. The series is set in the southwest because I fell in love with that part of the US after taking a trip into southern Utah and learning that my great grandma, who lived on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, also loved to paint those landscapes.
