Vivisected Butterfly is a piece discussing personal growth and the battle between self-perception and conforming to others beliefs about you. It is connected to the poem of the same name by M. Chadain. Vivsected butterfly A cruel fate To be everyone’s everything No one was my anything Someone once said in my ear We create that which we do not have Viktor created a boat So he may walk, not wheel I write, so I may speak Upon the bolted table Blurred shaped faces Smiles shining white with the cold light Shackled through-bolted palms The white-hot metal cuts Freeing skinned ribs With no pain relief given To end my suffering But ripping through ribs and skin The pain begins As butterflies leave my hosted flesh I wonder through bloodied tears Who’s growth they will serve They neverseemed to served mine. The butterfly host pinned Bitter to the table lying Still, cocoons cold and empty Waiting for time to forget That scars do not fade In the warm light of day.
