About The Artwork

This painting was inspired by water. More specifically the anticipation of a home visit to Australia. While there I love to watch large cruise liners dock in Sydney and watch the ferries crisscross the harbor. Riding the ferry is such a pleasure and the harbor is one of the most beautiful in the world. I have been exploring blue works of late so I hope the viewer can feel my love of water and moving water. I have painted a second one to join this one and created a diptych. Each may be purchased separately or as one work together. They are wired ready to hang on stretcher bars.

Nature has a way of intertwining and flourishing effortlessly and this becomes a constant source of inspiration for my art. I am drawn by the delicate beauty of a flower, its petals inviting bumblebees to explore its depth. In those moments, I am reminded of the intimate connection we share with nature. Throughout the seasons, nature presents itself in various forms, each with its own unique palette. The early purples and delicate soft greens of spring evoke a sense of freshness and renewal within. As summer arrives in New England, the greens overhead take on a tropical-like quality, transporting me to distant lands of my world travels. Along pathways wildflower shapes create a colorful symphony of beauty. Rhythmic ocean waves beckon me to observe the myriad shades of blue holding a story waiting to be told. I strive to capture the awe and emotions that nature evokes within me as I paint intuitive bold brushstrokes of vibrant or soft colors. I hope to convey the untamed movement of nature, inviting others to experience its beauty and feel its closeness. I want to share my unique perspective, to convey how nature resonates in my soul. Nature is a constant reminder of the interconnectedness of all things, and through my art, I aim to celebrate and honor this profound bond. I hope that my paintings can serve as a bridge, connecting others to the wonders of the natural world inspiring them to cherish and protect it. Jill Morton is an abstract expressionist artist.
