About The Artwork
The wait is a painting inspired by a lake visit in Bali, where I saw cranes patiently waiting for small fish to come closer. The stillness of their bodies with the beautiful blue water (stenciled)at their feet is depicted in the painting. I have used a base layer on top of which fresh colour was applied and scraped with credit card strips. Drybrushing is also used a technique which never ceases to amuse me and satisfy my love for painting. The stillness of the cranes inspite of the surrounding is what I want my viewers to notice.
