This work is a fantasy around the park of Charlottenburg Palace in Berlin. The artist is initially inspired by a real fact. In 200, during a walk with his father in the garden alleys, he managed to make a sound call to the squirrels. One of them came to the feet of the two walkers. For the artist it was a very emotional moment. He had never seen a small red rodent so closely. In "Walk In The Garden Of Charlottenburg Palace", Patrick Gourgouillat lets this memory float in a very colourful representation of the famous castle. Here we find the two gladiators watching over the entrance to the building. In this labyrinth of strange beasts and a stylised fountain, we also find Chinese porcelain motifs so appreciated by Frederick I and Sophie Charlotte. Finally, American agave in bloom blends into the composition. Patrick Gourgouillat gives here an impression of this walk. It oscillates between phantasmagoria and reality. Patrick Gourgouillat stayed in Berlin during the summer of 2020: this work was created at the end of his trip to Berlin.

"Everything is important, everything is beautiful, everything is sad. Where do we start if we choose to tell life and make it a work of art? Michèle Mailhot My work is eclectic, both in its form and in the use of media. In general, I work in "series". I think that one of the ways of making things interesting is through diversity: the styles as well as the techniques are varied. It can be the animal world [The Animals], societal criticism [Human Behaviour], comic strip-like drawing [Mr Doggy], crazy images as if from a dream or nightmare [Short Stories], gentle melancholy [Sky Blue] or, based on my own experience, phantasmagorical worlds in a dazzling frenzy [Viva La Vida]. I am currently working on the latter series. These series are very different from each other. What interests me are the variations in energy that they imply for me. So I go from one thing to another like one goes through experiences. This is often what happens in art in general and in life in particular.
