ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This body of work was inspired by Mary Oliver poetry which I really enjoyed, and some photos I took on a recent trip to Cape Town. They are created with the spirit of exploring and wonder in mind. There is a shift to more intuitive painting from me, which I hope welcomes the viewer to have their own individual response to the painting. Each piece is framed and ready to be hung. I have enjoyed exploring and growing my art practise for over 3 decades. Through my husband's work we have travelled extensively in Africa, and have lived in Zambia, Ethiopia, Nigeria and Cameroon. I am also spend time abroad, visiting my 3 daughters. My roots are deeply intertwined with the glorious Eastern Cape, in South Africa. My art is a representation of my life’s journey, and the transient landscape that surrounds me. I have found that my art is becoming far more intuitive, than representational.
