About The Artwork
"Walking with Franz" came to me as a title while working on this painting. The colors and the forms reminded me of the paintings by Franz Marc. I wasn't thinking of his artworks but maybe the unconscious works this way - I always admired his sense of color and his humanity. The work looks very strong on a wall, the darks (black and green) together with the bright different reds. To enhance the acrylic colors I added marks of soft pastels. This canvas is ready to hang, I added hooks on the back of it. I varnished the artwork with a high quality satin varnish by Liquitex so that it is protected against dust and UV rays. 100 x 80 x 4,5 cm / 39.4 x 31.5 x 1.8 in

ARTIST STATEMENT: Life is a largely subjective experience; but that subjective experience is my bridge to the objective world. And it’s this synthesis of the two that I am trying to capture. INSPIRATION AND PROCESS: I love experimenting and want to give my works an individual expression. I have two lines of work: I love painting almost (but not quite) realistic, somewhat utopian, nature images and on the other hand I really enjoy doing non-objective/abstract art. I am inspired by the beauty and power of natural phenomena, the mystery of nature, its colors and forms. Every painting is a one-of-a-kind work in which I try to combine feeling and thought. I work most of the time with acrylics but I also mix acrylics with other media such as oil pastel, soft pastel, spray paint, graphite and charcoal or ink. All materials I use, if canvas, paper or paints are of artist quality.
