Art Description

Painting: Acrylic, Oil and Household on Canvas.

This artwork was part of my '42' solo exhibition at the Magpie Art Collective 6th October - 9th November 2018.

These ladies took me about 18 years to complete. Every time I thought I was done, it didn't feel quite right so I'd work a little more on them. When I finally finished them I realized we were inextricably tied together - they were acting as my 'guides'. As I grew, so they changed. The final thing I did to this painting was the elaborate background. I feel this represents the ever-present transmuting energy field that surrounds us (that's why their dresses hold the pattern of life too and it seems to bleed into the background). I am a holographic every-changing pattern (sacred symmetry/flower of life) that transmutes and bends with my own personal growth and experiences.
