ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I was working on a series of figure studies that originally were painted 3 years ago. I enjoy taking older work and reimagining them . Each with a different vibe or influence. Whoever I am discovering at the time becomes an influence in my seeing . I like to start small and build my muscle memories and take that into a larger context. While I was re-imagining this small painting, Morrison's jig came on the radio ! I was so inspired by the energy I poured it into the work and the title.
