About The Artwork
Using acrylics with wet in wet techniques, scratching and sponging, this piece was inspired by Monet's dedication to his waterlillies. I did a study of patterns that light makes on water. This piece was the most beautiful finished work showing the nature of water in the elements- wind causing ripples, sun bouncing light, and the movement of reeds. I am deeply inspired by perspective and narratives. I think this piece takes you out of your head and allows you to truly "see" the shapes and movement of water. What is the story of the water? When the wind creates the ripples, what does the water feel? My interpretation is only one possible reality. What do you see?
