About The Artwork

Welcome to Dream Machine: Here in this painting the subject of my work is about hope, dreams, and ideas, that fabricate who we are and what we are, their influences of our lives and transpires our culture and social order. Our future successes and fail, our hopes and dreams they all connected from our surrounding and influences. At this point I am focused on the tradition of portrait painting, yet within the representation of the human subject I am using the background setting, as the narrative panel were the movement of the eye lessen the focal center from being the focal point. This painting is my first in a series of paintings were I use the background as a focal for eye-movement as it travels through the painting, and also as the narrator to a tale or a vision. This form of artwork came as I was inspired by Alex who modeled at Dan Gheno's class at the beginning of the school year of 2015/16 at the ‘Art Students League’ of NY. I remember that time were I was new to the class, I set down and began drawing the model from life, yet not knowing any of the classmate nor the model, it set my feelings a bit of lonesomeness (I sense it shows in the painting), but the model looked remarkable and cool and that inspired me to go on with my work. Yet, Through time as I came to know Alex the model, I notice his devotion to bodybuilding workouts and his participation in bodybuilding competitions, in addition, him and his fife love the comic books characters like Batman, Spiderman and so on, were they from time to time dress in costumes from out of those comic heroes, to go out and have fun. However, all this inspired an old concept in me, something I wanted to do for as long as I remember me craving to do art. I wanted to communicate, to put across ideas and visions by setting a composition that tells a chronicle without symbols, I wanted to combine realism with conceptual art. This and by Pink Floyd's song "Welcome to the Machine" from the album " Wish You Were Here ". It's how i came to it very first portrait mix.
