Hello art lovers,
You are looking at the 30 by 24 inches acrylic fine painting finished in 2004. It was made on the premium quality canvas, primed with Utrecht high quality gesso and varnished at the end creating a matte acrylic surface film.

The subject is a sunny day by the Casino doors on Catalina Island, California. First, it was a tiny 10x8 sketch taken at spot which latter on was redeveloped into a bigger size painting. The piece is unique. The artist, Vladimir Derkach, didn't produce this subject on other sizes. Whole mood and relaxed atmosphere is well brought to the viewer.

The history of the so called "Casino" is quite particular and unusual. The building still attracts the crowd.

Vladimir Derkach was born in Moscow in 1964. Since "perestroika" had opened the curtain he traveled a lot ending up in Santa Monica, California, where he lives now. The sunlight of "wind of change" helps him to work on various subjects mainly in oils and acrylics not forgetting his skills in linocuts and prints.
