About The Artwork

Who Are You" (completed version) featuring the incomparable Pinball Wizard himself, Mr. Pete Townsend. Few lyrics have defined a generation such as "I hope I die before I get old." Well, they got old but with age comes experience. This latest rendering attempts to vividly capture the genius behind The Who. The last in my Desert Trip series, I hope you would agree that it is certainly the best!

As a contemporary artist who is driven and inspired by vibrant, bold colors and high contrast, I prefer the obscure, the irregular, and most profoundly the elements of life that inspire and evoke passion. Born just outside of NYC and now living in the So Cal desert, it is not surprising my work reflects vivid colors, deep expressions and provocative feelings. Art has always played a principle role of my life; however, only recently, I decided to share my personal perspective with the world. I enjoy focusing my talents on intriguing and inspirational subjects that reflect life, passion, complexity and everything insightful. By demonstrating the omnipresent lingering of a ‘corporate world’, viewers of my work are seduced into a realm of ongoing equilibrium and an interval that articulates the unconscious stream of daily events. Moments are depicted that only exist to punctuate the human angst in order to clarify one’s existence and find the quintessential yet poetic meaning in mundane life. My subjects often include icons who define both pop and mass culture. In harnessing psychotropic colors and iconic pop symbols my audience is transported into a world where esoteric, light-heartedness rules and a universe where those rules are undermined. By examining the ambiguity and origination via muse and variation, I attempt to develop forms that are devoid of logic, and are instead based on subjective association and informal parallels, which by design challenge the viewer to first create, then cultivate latent, personal associations.
