ABOUT THE ARTWORK

I recently started a new collection of larger canvases featuring bright abstract florals and landscapes. This painting is the first of the large abstract landscapes that I have created. It is made up of layers of poured acrylic paint, brushwork and mixed media mark making which have taken many hours of application and consideration. You can see some of the layers in the photographs, from washy painterly layers to thickly painted and poured layers of acrylic paint and line work. It is signed on the front and will be taken of its stretcher bars for shipping. It will be shipped rolled in a strong cardboard mailing tube. When the painting arrives at its destination it will need to be restretched before hanging. The canvas has a protective barrier applied to it to help protect it from UV rays and humidity. nb: All my paintings are described and photographed as accurately as possible, but please bear in mind that I have no control over the variation in computer monitor hues. Please also note that any room set images may not be to scale and are to be used as a guide only. Referring to the actual measurements noted in the description is the best way to check that the painting you are interested in fulfils your size requirements. Don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions. Thank you for looking. Suzie

SHIPPING AND RETURNS
Delivery Time:

Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

My artwork documents my ‘everyday noticings’ and explores these through my love of colour and an array of mediums such as collage, printmaking, painting, drawing and photography. The common starting point for my work is the close observation of my local landscape, taking the time to really see the patterns in nature, the colour of the ocean or a tiny bright flower bursting from a thick deep green hedgerow. I document theses colours, shapes and thoughts in sketchbooks and then process my ideas back in the studio. I may have a loose idea for a collection in mind but I soon find myself lost in the creative process itself and my work can then take more of an intuitive approach, responding to the last creative move as I go along. I find myself drawn to exploring juxtapositions, such as colour transparency versus opacity, thick and thin lines, energetic and soothing mark making, wet and dry paint applications. All these components help to portray my unique interpretation of my world onto canvas or paper. My art practice reflects who I am as a person; curious, colourful, playful and spontaneous.
