It's a painting about winter. But also about a winter of suffering. This is why the barbed wire is also present in the picture. It's a symbolic mixture of ice, snow, barbed wire and wire. Maybe soil or wood too. Rotting wood. It's a fresh, cold image. It's a clear idea of suffering. That implies reconciliation, a sublimation of the pain. This image is a reminder that suffering is almost always close by. Hidden under white, in white. In the snow. In the light. And it must be assumed. It would make a great reminder hung on a wall. Of course, the colors in the room should be consonant. It would be good in an interior where such an apparent naturalism is unique. The framing, of course, depends on all these details. It must be harmonized. The work is on hard support and comes wrapped in a box.

I am an artist who deals with the theme of emotions in achromatic or monochrome images, in styles such as abstract expressionism, Impressionism, realism, minimalism and others. The human figure, realistic or transformed, the objects of nature or those invented, all have symbolic value for these states. The lack of color requires a radical asceticism, an austere simplicity in an exuberant sensory world. A reduction in noise, waste of color and easy anecdotes, which invite to meditation and re-examination of the world around us. The sublimation of subtones and valuing insignificant details and undesirable objects, but which are linked to the forgotten essential, all creates a world upside down, that questions. Pointing to values such as compassion and empathy which pay attention to the misery of the world, its sadness, its loneliness, the dumbing of the voice, the lack of freedom and so on.
