Woman Congo a Painting

I want to dedicate the next few of my works to the survivors of rape in the Democratic Republic of the Congo In the eastern part of the DRC, thousands of women, and children are subjected to rape every year. The perpetrators come from different groups and militias and sometimes government forces. It has been reported a woman is raped every five minutes in the DRC. After she has been raped she is no longer seen as of ‘use’ or ‘pure’ and is sent from the village to fend for herself with no food or place of refuge. This series I am working on in black with white ‘charcoal’, the full amount of purchase will be given to Care.org.au.
