Woman in a landscape Painting

'Woman in a landscape' is a painting where the square centred in the horizon represents a woman. The colours used are to evoke certain feelings or mood. The top is black, the square is orange and the bottom section is blue. Maybe the black suggests the night sky or an abyss, the orange square is a woman who is warm, stable and able to contain life. The blue area could be the sea. Viewers may sense from this painting feelings of loneliness, or floating in the ocean of time. The medium of paper is chosen for it's fragility, representing human non-permanence or being easily broken. I paint two versions of these paintings as version 1 is part of the ‘Woman and Man’ series. This is version 2 of 'Woman in a landscape''. Each painting is an original and slightly different to other versions so that a collectors purchase is always unique. This artwork is larger than version 1 and has subtle differences in the brush stroke texture.
