Woman in the Bar Painting

My work comes from my personal experience of living in Italy and the various emotions I felt as a stranger behind the seemingly glamorous life abroad. The strange-headed figure looks out of the screen with a cynical gaze, reflecting the artist's own image as a person experiencing loneliness and alienation in modern society. I experienced the inability to be completely free from the context set by society and the gaze of others, encounters the audience outside the screen through the eyes of the characters in the work. Although it can’t be known where the woman’s mysterious gaze is directed, I hope that the viewer will have the experience of reflecting themselves in the woman in the painting and adding their own narrative and imagination to expand the world of the work.
