At nights I dream of walking. Walking unknown roads, over the stones and sands. I feel the coolness of the air breathed in, scent of roadside flowers, ache of tired body. I live. Last night my dream was not easy. I saw lots of people walking on a rocky road. They were not enjoying themselves nor observing the environment. All of them were in a hurry to overtake each other. Some on the bicycles, some running. Unsmiling, tired, angry. For some reason I started running as well. And I was asking myself while still in dream – why I must run? Why I have to compete with somebody? Why is there no finish line? I was thinking about all of this for a long time. It was a dream about the race of Life. The race of Now. Our environment pushing us to fight, do not stop, hurry with everybody else. There’s a saying: “life is a permanent struggle”. But I do not want to hurry and compete. I do not want to overtake or to push aside anybody. I want to walk calmly and pause when I’ll feel it’s time to. I want to turn my head to see another person on my side, to give him a smile. I do not want to keep repeating myself that time ticks away – hurry to live, to act, to speak, to plan.. All the more I do not want to fight anybody, even not myself. Because this race – it’s not life. You choose to participate in a race, but you don’t choose life. You just live one
