About The Artwork

There are unusual places in the Crimea, this is the Yalta Livadia Palace. A resort town on the southern coast of the Black Sea. No wonder the palace of Nicholas II was built there. The Livadia Palace in Crimea — the last building of the Russian Empire created for the Romanov family, is a real treasure of the Southern Coast. This is the place where poets, composers and artists drew inspiration. A place that is impossible not to visit when traveling in the Crimea. At various times, the guests of the palace were prominent world politicians and artists, it has repeatedly hosted conferences and meetings of international level within its walls. It is not surprising that this place has witnessed many turning points in history.

My name is Elena Afanasieva. I'm a professional full-time artist. I have my own art studio in Irkutsk, Siberia Russia. I studied at the Krasnoyarsk Art Institute. I work in modern abstract impressionism style using oil and acrylics mainly on canvas and cardboard. Inspiration for me is my life, moments, sunrises, nature, music, the sea, shells. The unusual form of the shells inspired me to come up with a new author's crackle paint technique which conveys time and history. People like to watch the ocean, the sea, and everything connected with them, it gives peace. That's why my artworks are created in the marine theme. My artworks are in private collections in the USA, Germany, Austria, Montenegro, Russia. I have certificates of appreciation for my work. My students participate in international exhibitions. I work as an expert in accreditation commissions and take part as a member of the jury in exhibitions.
