Beate Axmann was born in 1962 in Mühlenbach, in the Black Forest, Germany. She lives and works as a freelance artist in Haslach im Kinzigtal, where she creates her art in her own studio since 2003. Her work can be described as expressive and figurative and sometimes even abstract. Her paintings are defined by encounters and opposites. Her paintings are mainly grouped in series about a specific topic, such as her series "Between Roots and Wings" (2012-2015), "Black Forest Peace Sympony" (2015-2018) and "Sichtverrückt" (since 2018). Her series each contain works in different media, like ink drawings on paper or acryl on canvas. The sizes vary from small format drawings to large oversized paintings.
