“You have to die a few times before you can really live.” ― Charles Bukowski, The People Look Like Flowers at Last bukowski inspired me for this work. the story of this painting begin with his title or no-title, it's about life changes: on the right part there's a scared person holding desperately to his past living in his wrapped memories because he can t go on, he can't cross the river he can't let a part of him die to change and continue his life. on the low-right part there is a mathematic expression, it symbolize a rational way to give life a sense through mind, the expression has obviously no sense. just before the river and the circle that guides life there are two eyes and two coin: i've always been fascinated by ancient greek culture and they use to put these coins to pay the ferryman Caronte to bring you on "the other side". Caronte is floating on the river doing what he has to do, passing through people which aren't always aware of this part of life even if they've been inside it. on the low part souls are making the sacrifice with courage to jump in the dark. the withe paint is the light, the life, the truth. the brown paint is the dirty part you have to go through to become what you have to. At last on the left side there are these two figures and this blue shape which make the loop begin again. the man with the fishing pole as head is a rare kind of person which helps you, sometimes even hurts you, to get there, where you have to be. WITHOUT FEAR WITHOUT HOPE i hope that you feel this painting in the way you're supposed to, depending on which part of it you are in your life, cause no matter what you'll be in one of those, and that it gives you a still point to find you and guide you through your own way. but mostly that you take what it gives you even if it does t fit with my message.
