Hanieh Ghashghaei is an Iranian artist based in Bologna, Italy, where she has immersed herself in the world of illustration for the past ten years. After gaining valuable experience, she began illustrating for magazines, newspapers, and children’s books, publishing four illustrated works to date. Her collaborations include prestigious publications like The New Yorker and Gli Asini, as well as creating posters for Italian festivals such as the Bologna Jazz Festival. Hanieh believes in treating each illustration as a standalone artwork, drawing inspiration from the nuances of life—people, places, memories, and Eastern fairy tales. Using a mix of acrylic paints, paper collage, and monoprint techniques, she brings her characters to life. Her work often features small dimensions, reflecting her intimate approach to art. In addition to illustrations, Hanieh crafts fabric dolls, reliving cherished memories through her creations.
