Elisa Franceschini is an Italian visual artist and Fine Arts educator based in Ontario, Canada. She graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome in 2006, where she developed a strong foundation in drawing, painting, printmaking, and Art History within the tradition of Italian and European Fine Arts.
Her academic background, rooted in the study of Classical, Renaissance, Baroque, Neoclassical, Romantic, and early Modern art, continues to influence her artistic vision. Through years of research and practice, she has developed a personal visual language that combines the discipline of traditional artistic training with contemporary expressive approaches.
Her artistic practice explores the relationship between observation, memory, and emotional perception through drawing, painting, and printmaking. Her work investigates how visual experiences can be transformed into personal narratives through colour, line, texture, and gesture. While her paintings explore expressive colour relationships and carefully structured compositions, her drawings focus on immediacy, sensitivity, and the emotional quality of the mark.
After completing her studies, Elisa obtained her teaching qualification in Visual Arts in 2008, specializing in Painting, Drawing, and Art History. She began her professional career as an Art teacher in Rome, combining artistic practice with art education.
In 2015, she moved to Ontario, Canada, where she continued her work as a Fine Arts instructor for children, adults, and seniors through community programs, museums, and cultural organizations in the Waterloo Region. Alongside her visual arts practice, she has also taught Italian language courses and, since 2022, has worked in Italian Studies at St. Jerome’s University at the University of Waterloo as a Teaching Assistant and Research Assistant.
Today, Elisa continues her artistic research through drawing, painting, and printmaking, exploring the dialogue between classical artistic heritage and contemporary expression. Her work reflects an ongoing investigation of perception, memory, and the human experience through visual language
Elisa franceschini has attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome (IT) most prestigious and higher level of education in Fine Arts, where she graduated in 2006.
During the academic time she has increased her artistic and expressive skills studing and following an academic curriculum regarding Italian and European Fine Arts context.
