View In My Room
I am inspired by the inherent suffering experienced in life, especially the pain felt by women from around the world. I believe to understand my work is to look deeply behind the images, to feel them, to feel as they feel; Lost, hurt, ruined, hopeless, struggling to survive. No, it's not pretty but it's not supposed to be. Hopefully it will invoke deep dark feelings of empathy and compassion in the viewer. I don't believe it is my task to tell the observer what they see. The observer has to absorb it completely and then draw their own conclusions to what's it saying, or screaming, or crying, or trying to communicate. The viewer must decide for themselves. Although it is channeled through me, it is not of me. It is of us as it is what we all have in common: pain, suffering, sorrow, pain. We have all experienced and know what it means to suffer. I only ask that you to look and see and ask yourself how it makes you feel.

I am from Portland, Oregon and I am an artist here in the Pacific Northwest. Most of my work is figurative in nature but extends into abstract expressionism with a focus on portraiture, faces and geometric shapes.
