About The Artwork
The work The Judgement of Paris was made specificly for the exhibition, Studio 518: Life study In this work, the central female figure is painted in Picassoesque style. The figure appears to be staring out into a space outwith the picture. The body however appears to have its own identity appears as if it is to looking out at the viewer. There is a Paris scene in the background that aims to lead the viewer out into the romantic horizon. 'The Pallete Wolf' characters appear as both a protective and unruly force. Through these visual cues the work seeks to pose questions surrounding the idea of artist as hero or heroine.
