Acrylic and ink on Chinese paper and rigid cardboard mounted on wood panel (depth 1 cm). A flat hook on the back of the panel is included. I worked on this painting for an exhibition project in Miami. Blue is a color that inspires me a lot. I find it soothing and wrapping ; it brings me great serenity.

Cécile Valle's painting is centered on abstract compositions, a search for balance endangered by freer, more spontaneous rhythms. She is influenced by what she reads, travels and feels. "Giving meaning to the eye and giving it a choice of interpretation. At the bend of symbols, let the mind define. Let gesture flow freely and spontaneously within a composed, reassuring chronology. Step back and take a closer look." C.Valle Creative process: Cécile Valle begins by creating small sketches in notebooks, which she calls "skeletons" because they form the backbone of her work. Once the composition has been selected, she prepares her canvas and sketches the structure of the composition succinctly in charcoal. Then she begins to work on her colors and materials. Cécile uses pigments extensively, as well as acrylics, inks, graphite and oils.
