A contemporary update on the classic still life, ‘Mr Sun’ depicts a chequered yellow table-top, surrounded by walls of brilliant blue and crammed with plant pots and vases, each overflowing with fronds: some blue, some green, some spiked, others soft, for a bounteous collocation of interior plant design, beautifully captured in Hello Marine’s signature graphic style. "I’ve been doing quite a few paintings that are a modern take on the classic still life, with lots of plants. Here you see quite a few patterns, which are a big theme in my work—the leaf patterns, the terrazzo motif, the checkerboard on the table, and then the wood pattern. I hope it will bring joy and positivity to its owner, and that people enjoy looking at it has much as i loved painting it.''
