About The Artwork
The artist likes snail shells in all colors and shapes from childhood on like strolling along the beach. This artwork looks a bit strange. The paper is of better quality, partially waxed and covered with ash and stone dusted. It shows one white shell and one in black at the beach. The white shell is bordered by paper with red oil pastel and covered by stone dust. One can see the entry of the snail shell. In contrast to the white shell the black snail shell is bordered by blue-gray oil pastel and painted with bitumen dust. The marine snails inside might be dead or still alive. The snail shells also might be both empty. Signed and dated in pencil.
