About The Artwork
Location of this painting is called the “Kite Beach,” and the model is my husband, Jean. There are so many beaches in Dubai, but there are only two beaches that allow kite surfers to enjoy the water and the wind. These two beaches are called the Kite Beach and the Sunset Beach. My husband's favorite beach is the Kite Beach, and that is why I took his picture there. He has a subtle personality, with not much of mood swings or dominant, superimposed characters and that is why I chose to have only two figure of him in the painting, both look calm and in control, yet curious and anxious about when the wind will pick up so he could hit the water and enjoy his time. So as I observe this painting, it brings out so many good memories for me.
