About The Artwork
Arequipa is nicknamed the 'white city' because the majority of the buildings and dwellings of the city are built with volcanic stones from the surrounding volcanoes. The main property of these stones is their whitish color. It's there, at the bend of a lane , that I saw this old ladybug sublimated by the contrast between its faded color and the sparkling white of the city walls.
