Abandoned Home, Mojave Desert - Limited Edition 1 of 5 Photograph

I was on a day trip to Joshua Tree national park for a photo shoot of the landscape, I became hopelessly lost and drove 100 miles north of the park. After realizing my mistake, I found an old two lane asphalt road back down south. As I approached the park, I came around the bend of the road to discover this interesting and abandoned house. The years had been kind to the colors of the dwelling, and I wondered who had lived there and why. I pulled over and took a few shots, not really giving much thought about the pictures until I got home and reviewed these photographs. The shoot at Joshua Tree was great, but this shot was the best of the day. I love the feel of the picture, and the colors. And I wish I could ask the former occupants what made them decide to build here, out in the middle of the Mojave desert. What were their hopes and dreams, their aspirations, and why did they leave? There is still such stark beauty to this place, even after the people have long since left....
