Andromeda On White - Limited Edition of 1 Photograph

ANDROMEDA ON WHITE is my 2020 digital construction depicting the story of Andromeda. This is part of my series of updating the works of Titian and Caravaggio, using new tools and a new approach. I pose and photograph the figure, wrap the photograph in fractal tattoos and patterns. The environment is built from fractal and digital painting techniques. Sensual beauty, other-worldliness and the tension of impending doom by the sea monster inspired this work. Andromeda was chained to a rock as a sacrifice to the gods for being claimed as too beautiful... she narrowly escaped. My version is presented as photographically detailed as possible laying across a fractal mandala, puzzling the viewer with her tattoos, her environment and what this is a photograph of. This piece is printed 1 of 1, 30w" x 17.25h" on metallic paper mouted to the backside of clear plexiglas. She is backed with gatorboard and edged with a slim black aluminum frame.
