Photography: Digital, Color, giclee on Paper.
This abandoned Moorish Revival palazzo is situated in the middle of Italy, hidden away in the rugged hills of Tuscany. It was constructed in the early part of the 17th century and was reconstructed and expanded several times since. It was lovingly restored for 40 years by a Spanish nobleman.
Orientalism was a popular movement at the beginning of the 18th century around Europe, and it inspired him to adorn the interior space with spectacular colors, arabesque detailing, intricate wall designs and incredible sculptural ceilings.
Printed on Hahnemühle Fine Art Baryta 325gsm Giclee print, a premium quality paper, which is perfect for Gina Soden's brightly coloured and textured images.
Fine Art Baryta paper has a similar foundation to that used in the past in traditional silver fibre prints. Its premium formulation allows for high image definition and 3-dimensional colour depth. The paper's unique glossy Baryta surface lends itself perfectly to saturated colour images.
