ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Shot on the island of Miyajima (Japan) in 2011.Printed in 2019 on acrylic paper with the help of a photoemulsion "Rollei". Initially, I wanted to print another image with gumbichromate, but it did not work. I decided to use a background of gumbichromate for printing in a dark room, with the application of photoemulsion on paper. The image is coated with gum arabic, to improve the archival properties. Paper size 9" by 12".

My work is inspired by my love of pictorial photography. When shooting, I often use a soft-drawing lens (monocle). Photo printing is a search for opportunities to create a photo image that looks like a drawing, graphics... where there is light, air, contrast, color experiments. I am engaged in analog photo-processes - cyanotype, gum bichromate, lit-printing, printing on cotton paper with the application of photo emulsion. Each photo, taken in this technique, is unique. It is impossible to make two absolutely similar images.
