About The Artwork

This flower was photographed in 2013. At that time Apple was using iPhoto as their photography application. While trying different ways to use this app in unconventional ways I discovered that you could use part of the slideshow feature to do a screenshot at just the right moment. That was how this image started. Then some cropping and color enhancement followed. All using the now discontinued iPhoto application. Photographed with a Pentax *ist D 35mm camera and a Pentax 18 to 55mm lens. Limited Edition of twenty-five Giclee prints. Printing by FinerWorks. Certificate of Authenticity provided. Print size is 14x11. Price including shipping is $445.00

I graduated from The Art Institute of Pittsburgh in 1973 where I studied black and white photography. A few of the photographers that amazed me then and now are Edward and Brett Weston, Imogen Cunningham, Ralph Gibson and Henri Cartier-Bresson. I also enjoy the paintings of Georgia O'Keeffe and Vincent von Gogh. I really didn't like the idea of digital photography. Working in a darkroom was very gratifying. In the mid 90's I was given a Pentax digital 35mm camera by a friend. Some of the photographs that you are viewing here have been taken with this camera. Most of my most recent work have been taken by various iPhones. I have never used Photoshop, Aperture or Lightroom etc. But I do use a few free or inexpensive applications such as Pixler, Camera Bag and Glaze, most of the work is done using a MacBook Pro and the Photos App. I go back and forth between computer and iPhone many times on each photograph. So I've been using a camera for about fifty years. I'll keep wording at it, changing ideas and looking for new ways of doing my art. I hope you enjoy viewing my work. Thank you and be blessed
