ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Bolu Wandering through Mudurnu felt strange that day. Due to a public holiday, most of the places were closed. A small town felt even smaller. Then we made our way to the gem that is the Abant Lake. At the time, it was frozen, thawing but places but solid carrying the weight of the surrounding forest. A high altitude lake, possibly cratered from ancient geological activity. Now dotted with pine forests, walkways, a couple of old hotels and travellers. A place where is there is more than that meets the eye initially. Photographs from Bolu. Photo shoot from 2014. Photoshop editing from 2018 to 2021. Works uploaded to Saatchi Art finalized in 20201. ... It is offered exclusively on Saatchi Art as 1 of 1 artwork and Open Print. This island is a neutral meeting point for those initiated regardless of their alignment. With enough resources, it also has connections to other places not mentioned such as Sabara. I had managed to evade him either because at the time he couldn't access the island or he had lost track of me. In either case I took my time there and it was years later just before the Great War that I ran across him in Kabul. ... Having failed to convert the tribals to support the Germans, I fled the scene with him on my tail. We had a major fistfight in Ulanbaatar and then a deadly card game at the Corpse Eater Inn by the Everlasting Graveyard. I lost and was banished to Sabara for a long time. It was his expedition there that I used as a pretext to escape.
