About The Artwork
This photo was taken in 1994 as part of a project I was doing on children growing up in Belfast. It shows a boy playing with a toy gun on the street. For me it shows innocence and beauty and strength. The photo was taken just before the IRA ceasefire which marked the beginning of the end of the Northern Ireland troubles. It has been published in the Observer in London, El Periodico, Spain and other publications.
